What is Christianity?

Christians believe in Jesus (PBUH). They believe him to be the son of God. Jesus (PBUH) was born to Virgin Marry without a father. So they believe Jesus (PBUH) to be God on earth. In all, they believe in the Trinity; i.e. the Holy God, Holy Son and the Holy Ghost (Newer versions of Bible call it Holy Spirit and not Holy Ghost). (Note that Christianity is a continuation to Judaism. Jesus (PBUH) attested the law of Torah. Still Christianity leaves behind the strict monotheistic principles of Judaism).

CHRISTIAN SCRIPTURES

Apart from the Old Testament, Christianity believes in the revelations to Jesus (PBUH); i.e. the New Testament.  The books in the New Testament are so many that it is difficult for me to explain directly over here. Let’s take a look at them in a tabular format, with respect to a few major sects of Christianity.

Basically all these books can be seen as two parts:

Gospel:

Gospels are the first 4 books of the New Testament. Originally many in number, they have now been restricted to just four; i.e. Gospels according to Mark, Mathew, John and Luke.

History

These are books written by people as records of history.

TRINITY

The Holy God (God), Holy Son (Jesus (PBUH)) and the Holy Ghost form the trinity. This thing doesn’t really go down well. Let me explain by quoting a few lines from the Bible.

“Think not that I am come to destroy the Law, or the Prophets: I am not come to destroy but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, till heavens and earth pass, one jot or one title shall in no wise pass from the Law till all be fulfilled.”

[Bible, Mathew 5:17-18]

(‘Yot’ is the smallest letter of the Hebrew Alphabet. It means that not even the tiniest bit of the law is to be left out.)

Here, the “Law” refers to the law given by Moses (PBUH). The verse clearly states that Jesus (PBUH) followed the law of Torah. Not only this, but even history provides us with enough evidence that he did not violate or disrespect the laws of Torah. Most Jewish Rabbis will confirm you about this. Jesus (PBUH) observed the Commandments of Moses and he respected the Sabbath. At no time did a single Jew point a finger at him to say, “Why don’t you fast?” or “Why don’t you wash your hands before eating?” Such charges were often put on his disciples, but never against him. Jesus (PBUH) was a good Jew and he honored the laws of the prophet who preceded him.

Now take a look at the following verses from the Old Testament of the Bible, which Jesus (PBUH) attested and hence all Christians must follow:

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord

[Bible, Deuteronomy 6:4]

“I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me.”

[Bible, Isaiah 46:9]

I could have quoted so many of such verses from the Bible. Here God clearly says that HE is ONLY ONE. Jesus (PBUH) believed this, attested this, and proclaimed this. Why don’t the Christians then? How can they then speak of their God being Three and not One?

The closest approximation that you get to ‘trinity’ in the whole Bible is once in the 1st Epistle of John.

“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”

[Bible, 1st Epistle of John 5:7] [AV – Authorized Version]

But wait. This verse is from the Authorized Version (AV) of the Bible, also known as the King James Version (KJV). This verse gets surprisingly replaced in the newer versions of the Bible, i.e. the RSV (Revised Standard Version). Want to know why? Because KJV (which was originally written in 1611) was revised in 1881 and came to be known as the Revised Version (RV). Later it was re-revised in 1952 and it was called as the RSV. It was again re-revised in 1975, and is still called RSV. The latest RSV has been revised right from the most ancient version of Bible available, which date somewhere around 3AD, unlike the KJV which was written from the Vulgate Version and not the most ancient Bible. See how much has Bible been tampered with?

Another point that Christians Priests all over the world use to prove the multiple form of God is the use of word “Elahim” in the original Hebrew script. The Hebrew word “Elah” means “God”. (Christians today prefer to spell it E-L-A-H, not A-L-A-H, because it comes so close to A-L-L-A-H in Arabic then. Earlier Bibles spelled it ALAH, but then it was revised to ELAH. No matter how you spell it, the word remains the same. Had it not been for this mischief of Christian Priests, Muslims and Christians all over the world could have prayed together. So coming back to the point; in Hebrew, “im” when used as a suffix gives the plural form of that word. So they say, “Elahim” signifies multiple gods. However, what these European Christian priests fail to note, is that in Hebrew (as well as in Arabic, which is a cousin language of Hebrew), there are two types of plurals. The first type is the common form which means “multiple in number”. The second type is the form of Respect and Honour. Hence the word “Elahim” does not in any way mean “GODs”. It only means “GOD” with a lot of respect and honour attached to it. Ask any person who knows Hebrew and he will confirm this to you without the slightest hesitation.

And did Jesus (PBUH) ever speak of himself as God? There is NOT A SINGLE unequivocal statement throughout the Bible, in all its 66 volumes of the Protestant Versions, or in the 73 volumes of the Roman Catholic Version, where Jesus claims to be God or where he says, “Worship me”.

You say the above lines to a Christian Priest and he will quickly respond by saying that Jesus said, “I and my Father are one”. Well yes, he did say that. But you can’t fool people by saying this. Because any smart person will go and check it out. Ask the priest to tell you in what “context” did Jesus say that. The above line is from the text of John, chapter 10, verse 30.

“I and my Father are one.”

[Bible, John 10:30]

But it is not said so abruptly. To get the context, you will have to start reading from verse 23. I’ll write the verses (and give a slight explanation in the brackets in case you have problems understanding them).

The Bible, John, Chapter 10

23- And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon’s porch

24- Then came the Jews round about him. And said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

25- Jesus answered them, I told you, and you believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me

26- But ye believe not, because ye are not my sheep, as I said unto you.

(Here Jesus refers to his believers as his ‘sheep’)

27- My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

28- And I give them eternal life: and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

29- My Father which gave them me, is greater than all, and no man is able to pluck them out of my father’s hand.

(Note the exactness in the endings. Jesus is telling the Jews and also recording it for posterity, about the real unity (unity as in ‘bond’, not singleness) or relation between him and God).

30- I and my Father are one

(‘One’ in what sense? With respect to verse 28 and 29, it is obvious that he means ONE in PURPOSE and Not in Nature, Omniscience or Omnipotence.)

All those lines mean is that once a believer has accepted faith, the Messenger and God, both see to it that he remains in faith. And if you still doubt my explanation, please explain to me the following lines from the same book.

“That they all may be ONE as thou. Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be ONE in us…

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in ONE…”

[Bible, John 17:20-22]

If Jesus’ oneness with God makes him a god too, then in the verse quoted above he is asking for the same oneness for the traitor Judas, the doubting Thomas, the satanic Peter and the other nine who deserted him when he was most in need. These are the people who “forsook him and fled” according to Mark 14:50, and “of little faith” according to Mathew 8:26 and “faithless and perverse generation” according to Luke 9:41.

Another point made by some Christians, is that Jesus gave life to a dead man, named Lazarus. This means he had godly powers. Well, first of all, it was a miracle which he could perform because God allowed him to, just like any other miracle of any other messenger of God.

So let me remind such people of Moses’ miracles. According to their own very bible, Moses puts life into a dead “stick” and made it a “snake”, (making a stuff of plant kingdom into one of animal kingdom). Don’t you think this miracle is much better than that of Jesus since he only raised a dead Man again. Moses on the other hand does not only raise a dead into alive but also makes the transmutation of plant to animal life. Now do you take Moses as God too?

Now that you prove all this, they say, “Jesus refers to God as the ‘Father’ throughout the New Testament. So isn’t he His son? And won’t the son of God will have Godly powers too?”

This is ridiculous. They say, “Jesus is begotten of the father.” God as the creator and cherisher is “metaphorically” the father of all His creations, whether living or non-living, including Jesus. And this is all the writers of the Bible meant. It doesn’t mean you ascribe to God such a lower animal function of copulating to produce a baby.

Now listen what Jesus himself has to say in the Bible, when a Jew came to speak to him.

“And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is God”

[Bible, Mark 10:18]

I leave this topic here as I think I have enough evidence to prove that Jesus was not God, nor the Son of God.

IS BIBLE THE ‘WORD OF GOD’?

Now I’m coming to the main point. There’s no doubt that Judaism speaks of Monotheism in a very strict sense. Also the Bibles have been ‘revised’ to speak of monotheism again. But the major question still remains. IS THE BIBLE A “WORD OF GOD”? I am not even referring to all the tampering that has been done to it with its revisions. Here I am daring to doubt the most ancient scripts available today. Because I really feel, that the actual Bible, both the Old and the New Testament are missing. Even the most ancient ones that we have today are not originally God’s words. And if this is true, we don’t have the original Judaism and Christianity at all.

THE THREE KINDS OF WORDS

Even without any deep knowledge, you can clearly see that there are three different kinds of witnessing recognizable in the Bible.

 1.  What looks like the ‘Words of God’

Example:

“I will raise them up a prophet… and I will put my words in… and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.”

[Bible, Deuteronomy 18:18]

“Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the end of the earth: for I am God, and there is non else.”

[Bible, Isaiah 45:22]

2. What look like the ‘Words of the Prophet’

Example:

“And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is God”

[Bible, Mark 10:18]

“Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying Eli, Eli, lama sabachtani?…”

[Bible, Mathew 27:46]

Even a child can say that all words following the phrases like ‘Jesus cried’ and ‘Jesus said’ are the words of Jesus.

3. Words of historians

Example:

“And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.”

[Bible, John 21:25]

Now these are the words of historians. And the bulk of Bible is a witnessing of this third kind. These are neither the words of God, nor of Jesus.

As a Muslim by birth, it is quiet easy for me to distinguish the above three types of evidence, because I have seen that in Islam too. But the fortunate thing in Islam is that these records are in three separate books that are at three different levels. Let me explain.

1. Word of God, i.e. the Quran

2. Words of prophet, i.e. Hadith (Traditions). These are prophet’s actions and directions narrated by his companions. Here, there is a very stringent mechanism of checking the authenticity of these words.

3. Islamic History. These are the least trustworthy and never really used to take decisions.

These are kept in proper gradations and are never equated. The Quran has the priority and the Hadith comes next. Any Hadith contradicting the Quran is taken to be incorrect. Hadith usually gives the details of what the Quran orders. For example, the Quran asks to pay ‘Zakat’ i.e. charity. But exactly how much is to be given is known from the Hadith.

Unlike this clear separation, the Bible contains diverse kind of literature all in the same cover which includes some very embarrassing, sordid and obscene matter.

MULTIPLE VERSIONS

Before we move further, let me explain to my readers the various versions of Bible that have come in. Here’s a figure to explain it.

THE CATHOLIC AND THE PROTESTANT BIBLE

The catholic bible is the Douay Version. It is a very short and compact kind of a version. This Roman Catholic Version was published in Rheims in 1582, from Jerome’s Latin Vulgate and reproduced at Douay in 1609.

As such, the RCV (Roman Catholic Version) is the oldest version of the bible that one can still buy from the market. The whole of the protestant world, condemn the RCV because they say it contains seven extra books which they call ‘Apocrypha’ which means ‘of doubtful authority’.

However, one interesting thing is that the Roman Catholics still take the King James Version of the Bible, although it is the protestant version. The KJV is the only Bible available in over 1500 languages all over the world.

KING JAMES VERSION

Now take a look at what the “Preface” of this world’s bestseller says. Here’s the photograph.

If you find it difficult to read, I’ll write it down for you. This is what it says.

“The king James Version has with good reason been termed “the noblest monument of English prose.” Its revisers in 1881 expressed admiration for its simplicity, its dignity, its power, its happy turns of expression… the music of its cadences, and the felicities of its rhythm.”

The above paragraph is clearly telling us how the content differs from the previous versions (has been edited) to make admirable for its simplicity, dignity, power, and happy turns of expression. But that’s not all. Here’s what it reads further on.

“Yet the King James Version has grave defects”

“That these defects are so many and so serious as to call for revision”

I think I’ve got the answer to my question. Is the bible ‘Word of God’?

But I’ll still like to mention a few of these revisions and speak a bit about them for the readers; because, these revisions have been made on few very important aspects of Christianity. What is more interesting is that these revisions are available only for the English speaking people. The revised versions are not available in other 1500 languages. The Non-English mass still refers to the KJV and still reads and believes those mistakes.

A FEW OF THE REVISED VERSES

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

[Bible, John 3:16 AV]

Every Christian uses this verse to say that Jesus was God’s child. But ask them to show this “Begotten” word in the new revised versions. This fabrication of “begotten” has been silently removed. It was just another interpolation that had been done to the Bible.

“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the father, the word, and the Holy-Ghost: and these three are one”

[Bible, 1st Epistle of John 5:7 AV]

This is the verse that gets closest to mentioning trinity. This key-stone of Christian faith has been scraped from the RSV without any explanation. At no other verse in the whole Bible will you find a mention of trinity now.

“So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into the heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.”

[Bible, Mark 16:19]

“While he blessed them, he parted from them, and was carried up into heaven.”

[Bible, Luke 24:51]

These are about the Ascension of Jesus; the most astonishing event of Christianity. These are the only two references made to this event in all the Gospels. But look what they did to them.

In Mark’s Gospel, they ended chapter 16 at verse 8. This so important verse was moved to the footnote, with a tiny mark of ‘k’ left behind at the end of verse 8. Like the ones you see at sales offers now-a-days.  (* conditions apply)

In Luke’s book, they did a similar thing. The last six words, i.e. “and was carried up into heaven” have been moved to the footnote, with a tiny mark of ‘a’ left behind.

Here’s the photograph of this revision in Mark’s book.

However this revision of the two verses mentioned above did not last long. There was a huge cry over this issue and the verses were “restored” back into the Bible (not before a million copies were already sold).

Now, the preface contains a note as follows.

“Many proposals for modification were submitted to the committee by individuals and by two denominational committees. All of these were given careful attention by the committee.”

“Two passages, the longer ending of Mark (16:9-20)… and Luke 24:51 are restored to the text.”

[Preface of Collin’s, page VI and VII]

MOSES’ DEATH IN THE OLD TESTAMENT

Take a look at the following verse from Deuteronomy.

“So Moses… Died… And He (God) buried him (Moses)… he was 120 years old when he died… and there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses…”

[Bible, Deuteronomy 34:5-10]

This verse clearly suggests that the book believed to have been revealed to Moses, has been written after Moses’ death. Contradictory, isn’t it?

INCONSISTENSIES

If the Bible is God’s words, then it should also be free of inconsistencies; because, God cannot get confused on any matter. I’ll like to list a few out of the many inconsistencies found in the Bible.

Who provoked David?

“And again the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say: Go, number Israel and Judah.”

[Bible, 2nd Samuel 24:1]

“And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.”

[Bible, 1st Chronicles 21:1]

How many years of famine?

“So God came to David, and told him, and said unto him, Shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land? Or wilt thou flee three months before thine enemies, while they persue thee?”

[Bible, 2nd Samuel 24:13]

“So God came to David, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Choose thee.”

“Either three years’ famine; or three months to be destroyed before thy foes, while that the sword of thine enemies overtaketh thee;”

[Bible, 1st Chronicle 21:11-12]

How old was Jehoiachin?

“Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord.”

[Bible, 2nd Chronicles 36:9]

“Jehoiachin was eighteen years when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. And his mother’s name was Nehushta, the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.”

[Bible, 2nd Kings 24:8]

CONCLUSION OF CHRISTIANITY & JUDAISM

In the preceding pages, I have come to the following conclusions:

The Bible (including both the Old Testament and the New Testament) is not the “Word of God”.

Jesus (PBUH) is neither God, nor the Son of God.

With the first conclusion, I have closed the question of following Judaism; since we have easily proved the scriptures not to be “Words of God”.

And both the conclusions together put Christianity completely out of question.

As per the Quranic teaching, The Judaism and Christianity was followed the commandment of God in it's starting stages. They were followed their prophets. But after the time of prophets, Some evil people was made corruptions in  their religion for their worldly gains and made confusions among believers.

The main difference between Judaism and Christianity are, Jews didn't accept God's commandment to accept and follow Jesus (pbuh) as a prophet from God. And those who believed in Jesus among the Jews were later called as Christians. Still today, the Jews don't believe Jesus (pbuh) was a prophet. Now most of Christians believes Jesus is God.

And the main difference between Islam and Christianity are, Muslims Believe in every prophets including Jesus (pbuh) and Moses (pbuh). But Christians don't believe Muhammad (pbuh) was a prophet. It was the same approach of Jews towards Jesus (pbuh). And Christians believes that Jesus (pbuh) is God, But Muslims believes that he was a great prophet of God. The sad thing is that, The practices of Muslims are same as what was Jesus (pbuh) did. But most of Christians are deviated from the right path. Let analyze who is following Jesus (pbuh).

Who is following The Way of Jesus? Muslims of Christians?

An alternative approach is to question Christians about the degree to which they actually follow Jesus Christ. Prophets brought divine laws or confirmed those brought by previous prophets, and invited people to worship God by obeying the divinely revealed laws.  They also practically demonstrated for their followers how one should live by the law. Consequently, they also invited those who believed in them to follow their way as the correct way to come close to God. This principle is enshrined in the Gospel according to John 14:6: “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me.” Although those who worship Jesus commonly quote this verse as part of the evidence for his divinity, Jesus did not invite people to worship himself  instead of God, or as God. If these words were actually spoken by Jesus, what they mean is that one cannot worship God except in the way defined by the prophets of God. Jesus emphasized to his disciples that they could only worship God by the way which he had taught them. In the Qur’aan, Chapter Aal ‘Imraan, 3: 31, God instructs Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to instruct mankind to follow him if they truly love God:

“Tell [the people]: If you really love Allaah, then follow me and Allaah will love you and forgive your sins, for Allaah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”

Look at the way of Jesus:

1. Pork

Jesus did not eat pork. He followed the laws of Moses and he did not eat pork. In Leviticus 11:7-8, “ And the swine, because it parts the hoof and is cloven-footed but does not chew the cud, is unclean to you. Of their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch; they are unclean to you.” However, most people who call themselves Christians today eat pork.

In Islamic law, the prohibition of pork and its products has been strictly maintained from the time of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) until today. Jesus and his early followers observed the proper method of slaughter by mentioning God’s name and cutting the jugular veins of the animals while they were living to allow the heart to pump out the blood. However, Christians today do not attach much importance to proper slaughter methods, as prescribed by God.

2. Alcohol

Jesus consecrated himself to God and therefore abstained from alcoholic drinks according to the instructions recorded in Numbers 6:1-4: “And the Lord said to Moses, ‘Say to the people of Israel, When either a man or a woman makes a special vow, the vow of the Nazirite, to separate himself to the Lord, 3he shall separate himself from wine and strong drink; he shall drink no vinegar made from wine or strong drink, and shall not drink any juice of grapes or eat grapes, fresh or dried. 4All the days of his separation he shall eat nothing that is produced by the grapevine, not even the seeds or the skins.”

As to the ‘miracle of turning water into wine’,13 it is found only in the Gospel of John, which consistently contradicts the other three gospels. As mentioned earlier, the Gospel of John was opposed as heretical in the early Church,14 while the other three Gospels were referred to as the Synoptic Gospels because the texts contained a similar treatment of Jesus’ life.15 Consequently, New Testament scholars have expressed doubt about the authenticity of this incident.

As per the Islamic teachings the intoxicants are prohibited. And practicing Muslims are following it.

3. Ablution before Prayer

Prior to making formal prayer, Jesus used to wash his limbs according to the teachings of the Torah. Moses and Aaron are recorded as doing the same in Exodus 40:30-31, “And he set the laver between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it for washing, with which Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet as the Lord commanded Moses.”

It is the same thing Muslims are doing before the prayer in more perfectly.

4. Prostration in Prayer

Jesus is described in the Gospels as prostrating during prayer. In Matthew 26:39, the author describes an incident which took place when Jesus went with his disciples to Gethsemane: “And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, ‘My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.”

Christians today kneel down, clasping their hands, in a posture which cannot be ascribed to Jesus. The method of prostration in prayer followed by Jesus was not of his own making. It was the mode of prayer of the prophets before him. In the Old Testament, Genesis 17:3, Prophet Abraham is recorded to have fallen on his face in prayer; in Numbers 16:22 & 20:6, both Moses and Aaron are recorded to have fallen on their faces in worship; in Joshua 5:14 & 7:6, Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshipped; in I Kings 18:42, Elijah bowed down on the ground and put his face between his knees. This was the way of the prophets through whom God chose to convey His word to the world; and it is only by this way that those who claim to follow Jesus will gain the salvation which he preached in his Gospel.

This Exactly Muslims doing in prayers

5. Veiling

The women around Jesus veiled themselves according to the practice of the women around the earlier prophets. Their garments were loose and covered their bodies completely, and they wore scarves which covered their hair. In Genesis 24:64-5 : “And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she alighted from the camel, 65and said to the servant, ‘Who is the man yonder, walking in the field to meet us?’ The servant said, ‘It is my master.’ So she took her veil and covered herself.” Paul wrote in his first letter to the Corinthians, “5 But any woman who prays or prophesies with her head unveiled dishonours her head—it is the same as if her head were shaven. 6For if a woman will not veil herself, then she should cut off her hair; but if it is disgraceful for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her wear a veil.” Some may argue that it was the general custom of those times to be completely veiled. However, that is not the case. In both Rome and Greece, whose cultures dominated the region, the popular dress was quite short and revealed the arms, legs and chest. Only religious women in Palestine, following Jewish tradition, covered themselves modestly.

According to Rabbi Dr. Menachem M. Brayer (Professor of Biblical Literature at Yeshiva University), it was customary that Jewish women went out in public with a head- covering which, sometimes, even covered the whole face, leaving only one eye free.16

He further stated that “during the Tannaitic period, the Jewish woman’s failure to cover her head was considered an affront to her modesty. When her head was uncovered she might be fined four hundred zuzim for this offence.”17

The famous early Christian theologian, St. Tertullian (d. 220 CE), in his famous treatise, ‘On The Veiling of Virgins’ wrote, “Young women, you wear your veils out on the streets, so you should wear them in the church; you wear them when you are among strangers, then wear them among your brothers...” Among the Canon laws of the Catholic church until today, there is a law that requires women to cover their heads in church.18 Christian denominations, such as the Amish and the Menonites for example, keep their women veiled to the present day.

In Chapter al-Ahzaab (33): 59, the reason for veiling is given. Allaah states that it makes the believing women known in the society and provides protection for them from possible social harm.

So Quran state it in very decent way than Bible.

6. Greetings

Jesus greeted his followers by saying “Peace be upon you”. In chapter 20:19, the anonymous author of the Gospel according to John wrote the following about Jesus after his supposed crucifixion: “Jesus said to them again, Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.’ ” This greeting was according to that of the prophets, as mentioned in the books of the Old Testament. For example, in 1st Samuel 25:6, Prophet David instructed emissaries whom he sent to Nabal: “And thus you shall salute him: ‘Peace be to you, and peace be to your house, and peace be to all that you have.’ ”
The Quran instructs all who enter homes to give greetings of peace; and those entering paradise will be greeted similarly by the angels. Whenever Muslims meet each other, they use this greeting.

Muslim greeting: Assalamu Alaikum (Arabic), meaning is "Peace be upon you".

7. Fasting

According to the Gospels, Jesus fasted for forty days. Matthew 4:2: “And he fasted forty days and forty nights, and afterward he was hungry.”21 This was in accordance with the practice of the earlier prophets. Moses is also recorded in Exodus 34:28, to have fasted: “And he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.”

The purpose of fasting is clearly defined in Qur’aan (2: 183) as being for the development of God-consciousness. Only God knows who is actually fasting and who is not. Consequently, one who is fasting refrains from eating and drinking based on an awareness of God. Regular fasting heightens that awareness, which subsequently leads to a greater inclination towards righteousness.

The believers are required to fast from dawn until dusk for the whole month of Ramadaan (the ninth month of the lunar calendar). Prophet Muhammad ( ) also said, “The best fast [outside of Ramadaan] is that of my brother [Prophet] David who used to fast every other day.”

8. Interest

By upholding the Law, Prophet Jesus also opposed the giving or taking of interest because the texts of the Torah expressly forbade interest. It is recorded in Deuteronomy 23:19 that, “You shall not lend upon interest to your brother, interest on money, interest upon victuals, interest on anything that is lent for interest.” Interest is also strictly forbidden in Chapter al-Baqarah (2):278 of the Qur’aan: “O you who believe, fear Allaah and give up what interest remains due to you, if you really are believers.

In order to fulfill this divine requirement, Muslims developed an alternative system of banking, commonly known as ‘Islamic Banking’, which is interest-free.

9. Polygamy

There is no record of Prophet Jesus opposing polygamy. If he did so, it would have meant that the condemned the practice of the prophets before him. There are a number of examples of polygamous marriages among the prophets recorded in the Torah. Prophet Abraham had two wives, according to Genesis 16:13: “So after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, Sarai, Abram’s wife, took Hagar the Egyptian, her maid, and gave her to Abram her husband as a wife.” So did Prophet David, according to the first book of Samuel 27:3, “And David dwelt with Achish at Gat, he and his men, every man with his household, and David with his two wives, Ahin’oam of Jezreel, and Abigail of Carmel, Nabal’s widow.” In 1st Kings 11:3, Solomon is said to have “...had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines.” Solomon’s son, Rehobo’am, also had a number of wives, according to 2nd Chronicles 11:21, “Rehobo’am loved Ma’acah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and concubines (he took eighteen wives and sixty concubines, and had twenty-eight sons and sixty daughters).” In fact, the Torah even specified laws regarding the division of inheritance in polygamous circumstances. In Deuteronomy 21:15-16, the law states: “15 If a man has two wives, the one loved and the other disliked, and they have borne him children, both the loved and the disliked, and if the first-born son is hers that is disliked, 16then on the day when he assigns his possessions as an inheritance to his sons, he may not treat the son of the loved as the first-born in preference to the son of the disliked, who is the first-born.” The only restriction on polygamy was the ban on taking a wife’s sister as a rival wife in Leviticus 18:18, “And you shall not take a woman as a rival wife to her sister, uncovering her nakedness while her sister is yet alive.” The Talmud advises a maximum of four wives as was the practice of Prophet Jacob.

According to Father Eugene Hillman, “Nowhere in the New Testament is there any explicit commandment that marriage should be monogamous or any explicit commandment forbidding polygamy.” He further stressed the fact that the Church in Rome banned polygamy in order to conform to Greco-Roman culture which prescribed only one legal wife while tolerating concubinage and prostitution.

Islam limited polygamy to a maximum of four wives and stipulated the maintenance of justice as a basic condition for polygamy Qur’aan (4:3), God states:

“Marry of the women that please you two, three or four. But if you fear that you will not be able to deal justly, then [marry only] one ...”

Furthermore, Allah says:

“You will never be able to do perfect justice between wives even if it is your ardent desire” [Quran 4:129].

Because most of us will not be in just between wives, So most of us will limit to One spouse except those who have more desire.

10. Circumcision

Jesus was circumcised. According to the Old Testament, this tradition began with Prophet Abraham, who was himself neither a Jew nor a Christian. In Genesis 17:10, it is written, “And God said to Abraham, ‘As for you, you shall keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations. This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your descendants after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised. You shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskins and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and you. He that is eight days old among you shall be circumcised; every male throughout your generations, whether born in your house, or bought with your money from any foreigner who is not of your offspring, both he that is born in your house and he that is bought with your money, shall be circumcised. So shall my covenant be in your flesh an everlasting covenant.”

In the Gospel according to Luke 2:21: “And at the end of eight days, when he was circumcised, he was called Jesus, the name given by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.” Consequently, to be circumcised was a part of Jesus’ way. However, today most Christians are not circumcised, because of a rationale introduced by Paul. He claimed that circumcision was the circumcision of the heart. In his letter to the Romans 2:29, he wrote: “He is a Jew who is one inwardly, and real circumcision is a matter of the heart, spiritual and not literal.” In his letter to the Galatians 5:2, he wrote: “Now I, Paul, say to you that if you receive circumcision, Christ will be of no advantage to you.”10 This was Paul’s false interpretation. On the other hand, Jesus was not circumcised by the heart nor did he say anything about circumcision of the heart; he kept the “everlasting covenant” and was circumcised in the flesh. Thus, an important part of following the way of Jesus is circumcision.

11. Worshiping One and only God.

Jesus ordered His followers to worship the one and only god as we discussed in above. But most of the the Christians are worshipping him instead of God. So Muslims are following his and all prophets' teachings.

The situation of those who worship Jesus in hereafter is said in the Quran. Allah Says:
